Update - 11/1/21

Brisbane Lockdown Covid Update 3 – Restrictions Easing

The QLD Premier has made an announcement that the lockdown of the Greater Brisbane area ends at 6:00pm 11 January 2021. The clubhouse will re-open at 10am on Tuesday the 12th of January 2021.

While the lockdown has been lifted, some restrictions will still apply to Clubs in the Greater Brisbane area for 10 days until 1am on Friday, 22 January.

Restrictions relevant to Ashgrove Golf Club:

  • Masks do not need to be worn by patrons attending the Clubhouse or playing golf. The reason for this is because Clubs are collecting contract tracing information from patrons;
  • Masks must be worn by front of house staff. This will not apply to back of house staff;
  • You don’t need to wear a mask while outdoors at a safe distance from other people, however it is important to carry a mask on you at all times;
  • Patrons must again be seated while eating and drinking and there is to be no dancing, except at weddings. Patrons may still approach the bar and other self-service terminals and generally move about the Club to enter and exit, use the bathroom etc., but must be seated while eating and drinking;
  • Internally, Clubs must revert to the one person per four square metre rule (105 inside the main clubhouse); and externally, Clubs may continue with the existing one person per two square meter rule (54 on the deck).
  • Golf will revert to pre lockdown conditions - groups of 4, competitions etc.

We have been asked by the Chief Health Officer (CHO) to reiterate to our members how important it is to ensure contact tracing information is being gathered, in light of the current situation.
The CHO has advised that if there are no cases of community transmission, the above restrictions will lift at 1:00am on Friday, 22 January 2021.
Other conditions for members to note:

  • Stay at home if you are unwell
  • Practice social distancing of 1.5m
  • Utilise sanitising stations and wash hands regularly
  • Observe signage in and around the clubhouse
  • Do not congregate in areas such as the pro shop or congested areas

Zegatos Restaurant reopens for dinner at 5pm on Tuesday the 12th of January. Sandwiches are available for purchase from the pro shop.

The Pro Shop is OPEN

junior golfClub professional Gareth Small and Trainee Professional Russell Skennerton run junior golf coaching clinics throughout the school terms on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Each clinic program runs for five to six weeks and covers all golf fundamentals including short game, putting and the dynamics of the golf swing generally. We encourage participants to register online through MyGolf, which is Australia’s national junior introductory program to develop and promote participation in golf. Ashgrove Golf Club is an official MyGolf centre.

Clinic details are as follows:

For bookings or enquiries please contact the pro shop on 3366 3438. Bookings can be made direct online through www.mygolf.org.au

In addition to the clinics the club also has a junior beginner program which runs every Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm and is free for all to come along and participate. We meet up on the putting green at 2:50pm and conclude at approximately 5:30pm with a small presentation in the clubhouse. The children are all supervised by experience club members and this is a great way for them to impart their invaluable golfing knowledge onto the next generation of budding golfers! In 2016 we are also expanding our program to include a 9 hole junior smash competition on Sunday afternoons from 2:30pm. This is played off the white tees as a stableford event. This competition is suitable for intermediate juniors who either have a Golf Australia handicap, or are putting in cards to obtain this handicap. You must be a junior member of the club to participate in this competition.

With current community debate focusing on community organisations providing healthy, productive, sociable and fun extracurricular activities for all children and teenagers irrespective of theirs or their family’s financial position, Ashgrove Golf Club is delighted to offer a comprehensive and affordable coaching environment. To ensure the long-term viability of Ashgrove Golf Club and the game of golf, and to make a positive contribution to the future of children and teenagers in our community, the Board and management have decided to make junior membership a priority of the Club. This emphasis has begun with the introduction and ongoing development of the club's Junior Development Program.

Current junior membership fees are $121.00 for the 2017/2018 golfing year. For further details please contact the office on 07 3366 1842 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  • Handicap requirement - a Player must attain an AGU Handicap of 36 (for boys) or 45 (for girls) and display reasonable proficiency to play to that Handicap.
