Dear Members and Guests

Further advice has been received relating to our ability to open the golf course. Golf Australia have changed their stance and now support QLD golf clubs opening in line with legislation published by the QLD Health Department.

We are pleased to advise that from midday on 1st April 2020, the golf course will be open with the following restrictions in place:

  • If you are aged 70+ or in a high risk category as defined by the Health Department, please stay at home.
  • Alcohol is strictly forbidden – serious penalties apply – members must abide by this restriction at all times
  • Maximum of 2 persons in the pro shop at any one time
  • No loitering around the clubhouse, pro shop or car parks
  • Keep 1.5m from any other person, avoid congregating on tees and greens.
  • Arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to your tee time and leave immediately after your game
  • Maximum of 2 persons per group
  • 1 person per cart. Exception: 2 persons living together can ride in the same cart
  • Carts can carry 2 sets of clubs provided one person walks. If the walker and driver swap, you must sanitise the buggy prior.
  • All competitions for the foreseeable future will be single stableford
  • All future bookings have been cancelled, you will need to rebook if you wish to play. Please be patient whilst we work through this.
  • There will be no NTP’s or Pro Pins. Ball rundowns have been extended accordingly
  • Bunker rakes have been removed – preferred lie, one card length in all bunkers
  • Flagsticks are not to be touched. Modifications have been made to allow you to retrieve your ball without touching the hole or flag
  • Please observe new signage around the Club outlining these and previously announced measures.

Staff will be actively monitoring and enforcing the new restrictions. If members and guests do not comply with all new restrictions the golf club may still need to close to protect the vast majority of members that will do the right thing. Members health and safety is paramount and this will not be compromised.

This is a fast moving situation, our aim is to have the golf course open for our members and guests. Thank you for your patience whilst we have worked through the various messages coming from relevant authorities.

Regards

Paul McLennan
President Ashgrove Golf Club
